- What a coincidence, one of my worst flaws is that I have no patience for stupidity, ignorance or disrespect which often results in conflict. Overall I'm a very cordial person, but the moment my patience is tested, I become abruptly contentious and ferocious. In the midst of a heated dispute I become inflamed and uncivilized, finding it difficult to maintain a pleasant manner. On the other hand, in a mild disagreement I become VERY rude, and slightly repulsive. When I'm upset, it's difficult for me to express myself. Therefore, regardless of the height of the disagreement I always feel obligated to have the last say, I MUST win. It's quite shameful: this is not who I am or who I want to become. lWe all have flaws, and what's most important is that we take heed of them and strive to fix them by any means possible. Improve yourself and you'll improve your life! ;)

Recently, I've been disconnected from everyone and everything; basically MIA. However, there's a perfectly good reason for my absence: I work three jobs and have a lot of "me" time to spend. When I say "me" time I don't mean negligees, nail salons, or champagne sippin. I mean I've been going through a certain period of transformation and my main focuses are progression, spirituality, stability and individuality. The ultimate goal at hand is BALANCE! It's been very difficult and it seems like an everlasting task ... However, in due time this will all come to past and I will be able to look back and say,"I am triumphant." With a strong family, peer, and religious background I believe ANYTHING is possible, and all will be well. There's something about photographs that triggers nostalgia. When I look at a photograph its almost like I'm there at that place and time, embracing the the magic of the moment. That's the true beauty of photographs.

Good times don't last forever, and we all know that but photographs tend to shine light on that idea. Therefore get a camera and save it all! A photograph has the ability to preserve all the emotions and beauty of a compound experience, in just one still image. The idea of that leaves me BAFFLED.
My favorite things to capture is nature, like sunrises, sunsets, animals, buildings, even self photos.

I finally got a starter camera (Nikon L110, next is the D5000) perhaps its time for you to get yourself one! ;)

I am the epitome of a true Libra, so this whole post is a self-description of myself . . . Yep, EVERY LAST THING that you need to know about me is in this post! { Dark skies

At times I reach the point where dark skies hang low above my head, and it seems like they'll never pass, but truth is . . . They always do. Bad times don't last forever, there's always a better tomorrow ;)

I was SO STUPID for falling for you and STUPID enough to think that maybe for one second you cared. My way of getting over this = forgive and forget. "Forgive myself for being stupid and forget you ever existed." I'll be honest you were every thing that I thought I wanted in a man, however your bad qualities greatly out weighed the good and its a shame ... I wanted you to be different from the rest, but you just blended in. Anywho, I'll be lookin out for guys like you in the future! ;D

Of course, you'll think of me when i'm not thinking of you. You'll want to talk to me when I don't want to talk to you and you'll miss me when i'm not missing you, and it's going to BURN ! Believe me, it's your loss not mine. Im sure it'll only be a matter of time til I receive one of those "hey stranger" or "aye wassup" texts. Smhhhh! There's so many men out there .. Do you honestly expect me to mourn over you ??!! In my book you're OFFICIALLY A NOBODY!

I'm sure my soul mates out there somewhere, and it'll only be a matter of time before we meet (or at least I hope so, lol) . . .

{ My "THING" against men.

I'm naturally a VERY sociable person (almost too social, lol) so I tend to meet a lot of people, many of which are men, of course. Men always ask me, "why do you hate men so much", and I don't hate them. just express my frustrations with them often (even though I AM a lowkey feminist lol).

I've met men that suggest a three-some to me and a friend within no time, guys at my job that get my name and search my online databases, men that stalk me in real life, men YEARS older than me that randomly show up at my house YEARS later trying to initiate sex, guys that insist on attempt(ed) touching me inappropriately (although I've never been raped or molested, thank god!), guys that try to take advantage of females when they're drunk, guys that force it all a little too much on all aspects, etc ... I've seen it all, so in general men are kinda creepy to me. Overall it's just HARD for me to be fully comfortable around men.

I'm TOTALLY convinced that these past experiences and  not growing up with a father DEFINITELY contributed to this. I think the absence of a REAL man or a father figure is the root to why I'm not so comfortable around men. I never even knew what a REAL man was like, I just had to find out on my own and I'm still searching lol. My dad wasn't even that great of a person anyways. WHATEVER!

This is just an explanation of why I'm so cautious with men and why I don't get close unless I feel as aware as possible of their intentions. Therefore, my radars always on and my wall is always up. Not to mention, my lack of trust in anyone DEFINITELY plays it's role ...

{ Searching for the thrill ...

I feel like there's no fun in my life anymore. It's weird because this is coming from a girl that's CONSTANTLY searching for the thrill and believe me I do a pretty damn good job at finding it, just not recently ...

I don't know what it is. It's not like I ran out of fun things to do, I do fun things all the time. For example, I go skating, bowling, arcades, parks, beaches, cookouts, movies, host movie nights, girls nights, road trips, open mics, cruises, concerts, etc. I mean the WHOLE SHABANG, and I still have fun but it's like somethings missing. It's almost like I'm not completely satisfied, or fulfilled. Like a smiley face without the smile - Just incomplete!

Well I'm pretty determined to get to the bottom of this, so I took time to evaluate myself and I came up with a few assumptions . . .

I figured it's the woes of life and what's really going on in our world that's gotten to me yet again. However, I do a real good job at masking those thoughts but from time to time they tend to surface. I'm a child of love so I figure maybe this feeling is a result of the lack of love ... Maybe ... Although, I never felt fully loved I was still complete and ALWAYS took the necessary procedures to have ultimate fun and enjoy life!

Last but not least .... I figured maybe it's my relationship with GOD. Everyone should have a STRONG relationship with GOD, in these days. After all, they say he should be the answer to all your problems, so perhaps my relationship with GOD isn't close enough. Perhaps I need to relink with him or something. Maybe he's what's missing ... I don't know, I'm clueless.

Imagine that you're hungry, and you eat but after eating ALL that food, you're still hungry and you're never quite full? Well, that what it the feels like ... THIS SUCKS!

I just wanna feel complete again, that is all ...

{ The Magic of Laughter

Well some people question why I laugh during "serious" situations, my reasoning : I don't always take life TOO seriously. Laughing tends to mask sadness and madness and brings light to dark situations. When you think about it life is pretty damn depressing. Most people are too wrapped up in their world to take notice of what's actually going on around the world. People are STARVING, HOMELESS, AND being SLAUGHTERED ! There's EARTHQUAKES EVERY WHERE as if recessions not bad enough. So if I get the chance to laugh believe me, I take advantage of it!




"Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." - Meaning that no one can escape pain, it's something that we all have to experience. However, we have the choice of whether we want to dwell in that pain or not. ;)

I laugh when someone cusses me out at work, I laugh when someone threatens me, I laugh when I somehow end up "stranded" in the hood, I laughed when my mom "accidentally" locked me out (even though I'm pretty sure it was because she was pissed w/my bs), I even laugh when I hear bad news . . . I laugh when I should be crying and I laugh in the WORST situations ! It's almost INEVITABLE!

I MAINLY laugh instead of crying or getting upset because I know that chance are that I'm gonna look back at that moment and laugh about it anyway, so why not save myself the despair and laugh in advance, ya know? That saves me my tears, it keeps my blood pressure down, and it keeps me from unnecessary gloom. After all , pain IS temporary right? :)

Okay, so I have a thing against fast food. Do you know who the hell is making your food? Do you know how they make it? Do you know what's in it? Most times ... Not unless you manufacture the food or you prepare the food yourself. I rest my case ... Lol.

WENDY'S-  I was with my friend when she found a green bug stuck to the lettuce in her burger, AND she was already on her last bite.

MC. DONALD' - I found a bone in my chicken sandwich including clumped up, fatty pieces on NUMEROUS occasions ! :\

ASIAN RESTAURANT- I ended up finding a BIG ass egg shell in my rice !

RANDOM PLACES- I tend to find hair in my food frequently. GAG!

Now ... This is ALL facts, and there's more but you get the drift. I suppose that I always take notice to these things because I'm always on the look out for it, and it COMPLETELY freaks me out! So I really don't even eat fast food unless I am dying of hunger or I'm short on cash lol!

I admire these ladies for different reasons, but mainly for their individuality. They are free-spirited, rebels, activists, strong, confident, and beautiful. Janelle Monae wasn't always a part of this until around February (2010). I chose to add her because she's the newer version of these ladies and I'm cool with that. After, I suppose she's the new ordinary and apparently this generation seems to be more attracted to the new. One thing is for sure, I'd rather see more people look up them than this "GAGA" character. I just think that they're better role models ...

Be passionate about EVERYTHING you do in life! For example, when you kiss someone let it be everlasting, and let it be one that touches deeper than the physical. Let it touch the soul. Even when choosing a career, don't decide that your gonna be something just because someone else encourages you to be. Do whatever you're PASSIONATE about, because chances is that you'll be more efficient in carrying out your daily job requirements and you'll be happy about attending your workplace. Ooooooooh man ! Just the thought of something SO BEAUTIFUL makes me realize how FASCINATING life is. Love is bliss. The thought of falling in love is beguiling . . . *sighs*, one day.

WHOOPS! Had a Kayona moment. I'm back now, lol! ANYWHYO, point is  ... Without passion, actions are meaningless and the results aren't always effective.

I'm a down for whatever type chick, I take risks, and I have fun to FULLEST! Life's too short, and only granted once, so why not make the best of it? 

I wouldn't say that I "live for the moment", but I'm constantly "searching for the thrill". I'll admit it ... I'm addicted to the rush. I'm a bit spontaneous and risky but I have my limits. When I take risks I weigh out the pro's and the con's of the situation, so that after everything is said and done, I still feel as though I made the best decision. Even if the consequences are harsh, I make sure the risk is worth it. I always think before I act. I make it a PRIORITY to make the BEST decisions for myself and others no matter what. 

People say I'm a comedian, and well, I just like to make people laugh. It's easier to show than it is to tell but I was nominated LEHS class clown, so that must tell you something. 

{ My Dreams ...

All I want to do is help people, make people smile, and give everything until there's nothing left.

Helping others truly makes me happy and completes my existence.

I once had a "master plan" but became discouraged and stopped brainstorming. I doubted myself for many reasons and gave up on that dream.

I guess what it comes down to is : Determination, confidence, and grind ..

Well anyway, I asked one of my friends if he'd support me, and what he thought of my "master plan". His response :

" I do remember you mentioning the organization to me before. I really think it's a great idea so I'm not sure why you're doubting yourself. You have the potential because you know what you want and now you just have to do the work to get it! They have all sorts of grants and loans for people starting their own businesses. It's hard work - and I suggest you take some courses on the subject and research as hard as you can and do a lot of volunteering to get your name out there. I am not too sure how people go about these things, but all I know is, if you have a dream - you better sink your teeth into that mother fucker and bite down as hard as you can because that shit can fly away just as fast as it came... I am not sure there's much use here as much as a pep talk to get motivated. But yeah, I am behind you 100% Kayona."

This message gave me hope and inspiration. This made me consider the possibilities, so for that I am greatly appreciative, though sometimes I still doubt myself ... One day, when the time is right I WILL accomplish this goal and do whatever it takes to make it happen. Keep me in your prayers ... :)

Indian and African garments are SO me! ;D I've always had a fascination for them.They're not just pieces of fabric they tell their own story. A story of heritage, courage, confidence, pride, and spirituality. Not to mention, the colors and the stitching is always so BEAUTIFUL. Therefore, slowly but surely I'll be making a few additions to my wardrobe ! :)

 I wanted my first henna tattoo when I was ten years old. A seemingly Indian lady was making them at Underground Atlanta. I was SO fascinated and I've always wanted to get one over the years. Heck, I wanted to get one at that moment, but I was young with no cash and I doubt my mom would've ever given me money to get it done. It doesn't seem to be popular outside of the the cultures listed above, so it's been really difficult to find. Either way, I CAN'T WAIT to get a henna tattoo . . . I googled it and found some examples. Check them out!
